Florida law compliance: This referral program applies to retail / cash-pay roof replacements only — not insurance claim work. See the compliance details below before submitting.

How it works

Three steps. No marketing jargon. No upsells. Just a fair payout for bringing us your neighbor.

1

Tell us about them

Fill out a short form with your neighbor's name and address, plus your own contact info so we know where to send the check.

2

We handle the rest

We'll reach out to your neighbor with a friendly, no-pressure inspection offer. No hard sell. If they're not interested, that's fine.

3

You get paid

Once your neighbor signs a contract and the roof replacement is complete, we mail you a $1,500 check within 30 days of their final payment clearing.

A note from the owner

Why I'm paying you $1,500 to tell a neighbor.

I'm Joel Lujan, and I started Premium Roofing here in Sarasota back in 2017. In the years since, I've learned something about how roofing work actually moves: the best leads always come from neighbors.

People don't trust billboards. They don't trust Facebook ads. They don't even trust Google reviews the way they trust the person next door saying, “call this guy, he does great work.”

So I figured — why not just pay the neighbors directly?

If you know someone whose tile or metal roof has seen better days, tell them about us. If they choose Premium Roofing, you get $1,500 cash. That's it. No referral code tiers, no diminishing rewards, no weird catches. Just a check in the mail once they sign and the job is complete.

Important — Florida law compliance

What this program is, and what it isn't.

Florida roofing contractors operate under strict statutes that limit how referral programs can interact with insurance claims. To keep Premium Roofing and every person who refers a neighbor on the right side of the law, this Neighbor Cash program has four important boundaries. Please read all of them before submitting.

1. Retail / cash-pay jobs only

The $1,500 payout applies only to retail roof replacements — jobs where your neighbor pays us directly (cash, check, or financing) as the customer. The payout does not apply to jobs funded primarily through a homeowner's insurance claim. This is a legal requirement, not a Premium Roofing preference.

2. No insurance claim intermediation

Florida's SB 2-A and §627.7152 prohibit assignment of benefits (“AOB”) arrangements and place strict limits on how contractors can interact with the insurance claims process. We do not file insurance claims on behalf of homeowners, we do not pay referral fees for introductions that lead to claim filings, and we do not solicit insurance-related work through this program. If your neighbor plans to file an insurance claim, we can still help them with their roof — but the referral bonus does not apply to that job, and your role as the referrer ends the moment the conversation turns to insurance.

3. Never any deductible waivers

Florida §817.234 makes it a third-degree felony for a contractor to waive, absorb, or rebate a homeowner's insurance deductible. We never do this, regardless of how a referral comes in. If your neighbor asks us to waive their deductible, we will politely decline and walk away.

4. You are not a Premium Roofing sales agent

When you tell a neighbor about us, you can share that we're a licensed local roofer with strong reviews, a 10-year workmanship warranty, and a long track record in Sarasota. You cannot represent yourself as a Premium Roofing employee or agent, negotiate pricing or terms on our behalf, make promises about insurance coverage or claim outcomes, or discuss anything related to the insurance claims process. Your role is simply to say “call Joel” — we take it from there.

Premium Roofing & Restoration is a licensed Florida roofing contractor (CBC / CCC). This page does not solicit or discuss insurance-related services and is not offered in connection with any insurance claim. References to Florida statutes (SB 2-A, §627.7152, §817.234, §489.147) are summaries intended for general awareness only and are not legal advice. Tax reporting: referrers who earn $600 or more in a calendar year will receive IRS Form 1099-NEC as required by federal law.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be a past customer?

No. Anyone can refer — neighbor, friend, family, coworker, or even a stranger who happens to know someone with an old roof.

How do I know when my neighbor closes?

We email you at each stage: referral received, inspection scheduled, quote delivered, job closed, and payment sent. Full transparency.

What if they already got a quote from Premium Roofing?

Referrals are first-come-first-served and tracked by address. If you submit a referral before we've already contacted them, you're in.

Can I refer a family member?

Yes, as long as they don't live in the same household as you. We can't pay you for referring yourself.

What roofs qualify?

Any tile or metal roof replacement in our Gulf Coast service area (Sarasota to Marco Island) that is paid for retail (cash, check, or financing). Shingle roofs, repairs, commercial jobs, and insurance-claim jobs don't qualify for the $1,500 bonus.

What if my neighbor plans to use insurance to pay for the roof?

We can still help them — Premium Roofing does plenty of legitimate post-storm work — but the $1,500 Neighbor Cash bonus does not apply to any job funded primarily through an insurance claim. Florida statutes (SB 2-A and §627.7152) place strict limits on how contractors can pay for referrals tied to insurance work, and we will not go anywhere near that line. If the conversation turns to a claim, your role as the referrer ends and we take it from there directly with the homeowner. See the compliance section above for full details.

When do I get paid?

Within 30 days of the referred customer's final payment clearing. We pay by check, Zelle, or Venmo — your choice.

Is there a limit on how many I can refer?

No cap. Refer one neighbor or refer twenty. Every referral that results in a signed contract and completed roof pays $1,500.

Do I have to pay taxes on the $1,500?

Any referrer who earns $600 or more from us in a calendar year will receive an IRS Form 1099-NEC for tax reporting. That's federal law, not our rule.

How long is the offer valid?

Indefinitely, until we announce otherwise. Once you submit a referral, it stays in our system for 12 months before expiring.

Know a neighbor with an old roof?

Takes 60 seconds. $1,500 cash when they sign and the job is done. That's it.
